Milipol India 2025 Opens in Delhi: Indo-French Ties in Homeland Security Take Center Stage

New Delhi: Milipol India 2025, a global event spotlighting innovation and partnership in homeland security, officially commenced on Wednesday at Yashobhoomi (IICC) in the capital city. The three-day event is a joint initiative by Inter Ads Exhibition Pvt Ltd (India) and Comexposium (France), backed by the Ministries of Home Affairs of India and France.

A Tribute and a Mission

The event opened with a solemn one-minute silence to honour the victims of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives. The gesture set a poignant tone for discussions focused on national and global security challenges.

Indo-French Cooperation at the Forefront

In his keynote address, Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai highlighted the growing Indo-French partnership, especially in co-production of cutting-edge technologies to enhance the capabilities of both nations’ security forces.

“Together, we can create an environment where startups, MSMEs, and industries from both nations collaborate, innovate, and succeed,” Rai said.

The French Embassy in India, via a post on X, emphasized the strong bilateral participation, noting that Francois-Noel Buffet, Minister attached to the French Interior Minister, co-inaugurated the event alongside Rai.

Global Participation & Emerging Tech Focus

Milipol India 2025 has drawn participants from France, India, the US, UAE, Netherlands, and other countries. The exhibition features AI-powered security systems, surveillance solutions, crisis management tools, and more, underlining the future of security technology.

French Ambassador Thierry Mathou and Colonel Yannick Vidal from GIGN were among the dignitaries present at the inauguration, joined by high-ranking Indian and French officials.

AI and Cybersecurity: Key Pillars of Future Collaboration

Minister Buffet underscored the importance of extending Indo-French cooperation into AI, cybersecurity, and counter-terrorism. He referenced discussions between PM Narendra Modi and President Emmanuel Macron during the AI Action Summit held in Paris in February 2025.

“Together, we aim to counter emerging threats like cybercrimes and terrorism through innovation and strong partnerships,” Buffet said.

Platform for Dialogue and Growth

Alongside the expo, state-level conferences and expert panels are being held to foster dialogue around regional security issues, strategic coordination, and innovative security solutions.

Rai concluded by stressing France’s role as India’s fifth-largest trading partner, emphasizing the potential for joint ventures and mutual investments in the security sector.

Milipol India 2025 continues till April 25, serving as a key milestone in building a more secure, tech-driven future through global cooperation and innovation.
