Massive Terror Hunt Launched After Brief Exchange of Fire in Udhampur District

Udhampur, July 10: Security forces have launched a massive manhunt for terrorists following a brief exchange of fire in the Sang area of Udhampur district.

According to top police sources, a police sentry observed suspicious movement and opened fire. The terrorists responded, resulting in a brief exchange of gunfire between the two sides.

Due to the darkness, security forces have cordoned off the area and will resume the operation at first light tomorrow. Additional troops have been deployed to the location to assist in the search.

Sources indicate that this incident occurred only a few kilometers from the site of a recent major attack on an Indian Army convoy in the Banota area of Kathua. Two days ago, that attack resulted in the martyrdom of five soldiers.
