A massive fire broke out at the famous Dilli Haat market in South Delhi’s INA area on Wednesday evening, damaging multiple food stalls and handicraft shops. The incident took place around 8:55 PM, according to the Delhi Fire Service.
Quick Fire Response
Upon receiving the emergency call, twelve fire engines were dispatched to the spot. Firefighters acted swiftly to contain the blaze and prevent further damage.
“The fire is now under control. Thankfully, no injuries or casualties have been reported,” said a Delhi Fire Service official.
Market Suffers Heavy Losses
Known for its colorful stalls selling traditional crafts and regional cuisine, Dilli Haat is a popular attraction for both locals and tourists. Though moderately crowded at the time, no one was harmed, but vendors suffered major losses.
“Several food stalls and shops have been gutted,” said a stall owner, adding that the fire spread quickly before help arrived.
