Maserati has launched its new convertible supercar, the MC20 Cielo, in India. The luxury car is priced at Rs 5.31 crore (ex-showroom) and comes with high-performance capabilities with Maserati’s twin-turbocharged, in-house developed engine and open-top driving.
Design and Features: Maserati MC20 Stylish Open-Top Convertible
MC20 Cielo is the open-top cousin of the MC20 coupe, with a retractable glass roof that opens or closes in 12 seconds. The innovative roof can switch from transparent to opaque at the touch of a button, so drivers can take in the sun or shade whenever they choose.
Engine and Performance: Unmatched Power Under the Bonnet
Under the bonnet, the MC20 Cielo contains a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine known as “Nettuno,” with 630 horsepower and 730 Nm of torque on tap. With its powerful engine, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in about 3 seconds, which is 0.1 seconds slower than the equivalent coupe variant. It also has a top speed of more than 320 km/h, making it one of the fastest convertibles available today.
Weight and Top Design: Enhancing the Driving Experience
The Cielo also accelerates slightly more slowly because of the added weight of its folding top. At 1,560kg, it is 85 kg heavier than the MC20 coupe. Its glass top is 909 mm in length and 615 mm in width, different from most other convertibles that employ steel or cloth. Apart from the convertible glass top, the MC20 Cielo mirrors the features and options of the MC20, which Maserati introduced in 2023 with a sticker price of Rs 3.69 crore.
Limited Edition: The PrimaSerie of Maserati
Maserati also has on offer a limited edition of the MC20 Cielo dubbed the “PrimaSerie” with only 60 such units available globally, having bespoke designs and badging.
The Maserati MC20 Cielo is the latest offering in India’s premium car market. The powerful engine, quick acceleration, and distinctive glass roof make it ideal for car enthusiasts who seek both speed and luxury.
