Torrential rains in the last 24 hours have created havoc for the people in Uttar Pradesh. 19 people in the state, including two brothers in Kannauj, died due to rain and lightning. The Chief Minister has instructed the officials to start relief work expeditiously. On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert in most of the districts of the state.
Due to the heavy rains, the capital Lucknow was also flooded and all the claims of the administration were exposed. In the last 24 hours, Lucknow has received 99 mm of rain. A team of the Municipal Corporation was engaged in the work of removing rain water since this morning. Hazratganj area of ​​Lucknow was waterlogged due to heavy rains. The elephant statue installed in Ambedkar Park was damaged due to lightning. Also, due to water logging in most parts of the city, normal life has been adversely affected. Due to rain in Moradabad and Hardoi of UP, many places are water logged.
In view of the rain in Lucknow, the district administration has issued helpline numbers 0522-2615195, 0-9415002525. In case of any problem, a call can be made on this number. Four people died in Hardoi, one each in Deoria, Kanpur city, Rampur, Sambhal and Unnao in incidents related to heavy rains and drowning.
In Barabanki, two children died and two were injured after the wall of a kutcha house collapsed and got buried under the debris. Akash Kanojia, son of Ram Nath along with his wife and two children got buried under the debris of the wall. Saurabh and Shivi died in this.
The railway tracks near Barabanki railway station were also filled with water due to which the movement of trains came to a halt. Similarly, in a hospital in the same district, water entered several feet deep. Whereas in Sitapur, due to heavy rains, the school building in development block Pisawa collapsed. However, there was a school holiday at that time. It has been raining continuously in the district for the last four days.
The Meteorological Department has issued an advisory saying that due to very heavy rains, flood situations may arise. In such a situation, stay inside a pucca house only. There may be a traffic jam due to rain, so leave the house wisely. The flow of water in drains may increase, so keep distance from them. Also stay away from bridges which are built at low water level.
