Mann’s tactics a ploy to distract from Punjab’s issues: Warring

Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, the President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC), recently held meetings with the Punjab senior leadership in Chandigarh, discussing key local and statewide issues. The gatherings also focused on forthcoming party activities and mass contact programs aimed at bolstering party morale ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.
Responding to questions about the recent appointment of former Congress leader Sunil Jakhar as the BJP state president, Warring expressed his disappointment, stating that despite the respect and opportunities the Congress party had afforded Jakhar over the years, he had chosen to abandon the party for minor political gains.
Warring further speculated that the appointment of Jakhar, a relatively new member to the BJP, would likely have created discontent among veteran party members. Nonetheless, he offered his congratulations to Jakhar on his new role.
Turning his attention to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Warring accused the party of practising vindictive politics and of attempting to distract the public from significant issues in Punjab, such as the drug menace, law & order, healthcare, illegal mining, education, sacrilege, and state debt. He criticised the AAP for its alleged failure to deliver on its promises and claimed it was using diversionary tactics to detract from these shortcomings. He pointed out the baseless accusations the AAP had made against former CM Channi and its recent attack on Randhawa Sahab as prime examples of its diversion tactics.
He also called out the AAP leadership for adopting dual standards, highlighting its support of the BJP government on contentious issues like the Citizen Bill, the abrogation of Article 370, and the recent Uniform Civil Code.
Warring reminded Bhagwant Mann, the head of the AAP, to refrain from offering unsolicited advice, asserting that the Congress party’s ideology has always been in favour of the people, and they will continue to defend the rights of the public and uphold the country’s constitution.
