Man stabs wife after heated argument

A man has been apprehended for allegedly murdering his wife by stabbing her in the North West district of Delhi, officials reported. The incident occurred on Saturday evening in the Bharat Nagar police station area of North West district.

The accused, identified as Javed (24), and the victim, Afsana (24), were married a few years ago but had been living separately for the last two to three months. On Saturday evening, when Afsana visited Javed’s residence, the couple had a quarrel, during which Javed attacked Afsana with a knife, resulting in her death.

Upon receiving information, the police arrived at the scene and arrested the accused. During interrogation, Javed confessed that there had been ongoing discord between him and Afsana. He further revealed that during the altercation that evening, he lost his temper and stabbed Afsana with a knife.

In a separate incident, three individuals were arrested for allegedly fatally stabbing a person at a reception party in the National Capital, the police stated. The accused were identified as Abdul Sammi alias Kallu (19), a Swiggy delivery boy from Bhalswa Dairy; Vikas Age (20); and Arshlan (20) alias Monti, residents of Rajeev Nagar Bhalswa.

The injured individual, Sameer, a resident of Rajeev Nagar Bhalswa Dairy, was admitted to BJRM hospital and later referred to LNJP hospital for further treatment. Doctors deemed him unfit to record his statement.

The victim, Fardeen (22), a rickshaw driver, succumbed to his injuries on the spot. A case under sections 302/307/34 IPC has been registered at Bhalswa Dairy police station based on the statement of witness Mubin.

The incident was reported to the police via a Police Control Room call regarding a stabbing at Bhalswa Dairy Police Station. Witnesses reported that during a reception party in Gali No-2 Rajeev Nagar, Sameer, a relative, and Fardeen went outside together. Shortly after, Sameer returned, claiming that three individuals were chasing him with knives.

The accused were captured on CCTV footage chasing the victim, which has been retrieved by the police.
