Make in India turned out to be Joke: KCR

Telangana Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President K. Chandrashekar Rao, addressing a public rally in Maharashtra’s Nanded on Sunday, attacked the BJP-led Centre, saying the Modi government’s flagship project ‘Make in India’ has turned out to be ‘Joke in India’. KCR said, “Make in India has been the much-touted scheme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This ‘Make in India’ has turned out to be ‘joke in India’. If Make in India had worked then there would not have been China bazaars in every town and village across the country.” The CM further talked about reforms and called them the need of the hour. He also put forward the party’s ‘national agenda and emphasised constitutional reform, electoral reform, and judicial reform. He advocated “one nation, one poll” and said that the term “elected government” be discussed, proposing that all state and centre elections shall be held simultaneously and within a period of six months.

Explaining further, he said in every assembly, council, and parliament, 33% seats will be increased and given to women when BRS comes into power. He also said that one third of the representatives in the assembly, council, and parliament will be women. Speaking about the water issue, he said people are being misguided because the country has more water than required. He further promised that if his party comes into power, they will construct huge dams, just like other countries have made it possible, and the current policy will be changed. He added, “The BRS agenda will be to get a revolutionary change in water resources.”

On power, he said that even if the BJP government privatises the power sector, BRS will come to power in 2024 and keep 90% of the power sector in public sector. In October last year, KCR launched the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), marking the first step toward becoming a national party to counter the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Notably, BRS held its first mega rally in the presence of leaders of other regional parties like the AAP and SP.
