The violent clash that erupted between 2 groups over a minor dispute on Saturday evening in Akola has left one person dead. As per a statement given by the Superintendent of Police Sandeep Ghuge, ‘ one person was brought dead to Civil Hospital.’

According to the police, up to 30 people have been detained and so far eight people including two police officers have been injured but are not in danger.
Earlier on Sunday, SP Ghuge reveals “One was brought dead to Civil Hospital, but we are investigating it. As of now, 30 people have been detained. Eight including two policemen are injured and are out of danger.”
Following yesterday’s violent incident in Akola, the police department convened a peace committee. This meeting was attended by representatives from all religions and communities, political leaders, and prominent Akola residents. Police have urged all citizens to keep the peace.
According to the Deputy Chief Minister’s Office, Devendra Fadnavis has been in contact with the Director General of Police and the Akola Police regarding the Akola incident since last night.
“Now the situation is completely under control and there is peace. So far around 30 accused have been arrested and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has also ordered a thorough investigation into the incident,” the office said.
