LS Polls: Congress launches ‘ghar ghar guarantee’ campaign from Delhi

The Congress Party has initiated its ‘Ghar ghar guarantee’ campaign from New Delhi, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections starting on April 19, aiming to reach out to over 80 million households across India.

Jairam Ramesh, the Congress General Secretary in Charge of Communications, stated that the campaign involves party workers and leaders distributing guarantee cards to 8 crore families. These cards outline the party’s five ‘nyay’ (justice) principles and 25 guarantees announced by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.

“The Congress President is coming here. Our ‘Ghar ghar guarantee’ campaign begins from here. Rahul Gandhi will do it in Wayanad in the afternoon. Under this campaign, we will take guarantee cards to 8 crore families – a card has been made regarding our 5 ‘nyay’ and 25 guarantees that were announced by the Congress president and Rahul Gandhi at the time of Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. The distribution of that card begins from here,” Jairam Ramesh said.

The Congress is set to unveil its manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections on April 5, with top leaders addressing rallies in Jaipur and Hyderabad the next day. The manifesto will focus on the ‘Paanch Nyay’ (five pillars of justice), including ‘Yuva Nyay’, ‘Naari Nyay’, ‘Kisaan Nyay’, ‘Shramik Nyay’, and ‘Hissedari Nyay’, along with other guarantees made by the party.

The manifesto, compiled after nationwide consultations and thousands of suggestions received via email and the ‘Awaaz Bharat Ki’ website, aims to address the needs and aspirations of the people.

On March 30, the Congress criticized the BJP for setting up a manifesto committee at the “last moment”, calling it an exercise in ticking boxes and reflecting the party’s contempt towards the public. The BJP had announced a 27-member committee, headed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, to prepare its manifesto for the Lok Sabha polls.
