Low voter turnout in Srinagar Centre’s fault: Omar Abdullah

National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah on Thursday said the low voter turnout in Srinagar was the outcome of central government comparing high poll percentage with normalcy.

Speaking with reporters, Omar Abdullah, said that the poll percentage in the second phase was less compared to what they had expected.

“I believe it is the fault of central government for comparing high poll percentage with normalcy and calling it the effect of Article 370 removal. I think the low voter turnout was the reaction to it in Srinagar,” he said.

He said in the third phase, they expect a massive voter turnout. “People across Baramulla, Bandipora and Kupwara have voted in difficult situation. This time, we expect a good voter turnout,” he said, adding that they anticipate people to support NC and Congress candidates in the third phase.
