Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Samajwadi Party’s Ravidas Predicts INDIA Alliance Government At Center

As the counting of votes commenced, Ravidas Mehrotra, the Samajwadi Party’s candidate for the Lucknow Lok Sabha seat, expressed strong confidence on Tuesday in the victory of the INDIA alliance in the Lok Sabha election. He stated that the public’s overwhelming support has been in their favor, emphasizing that the INDIA alliance government is poised to take shape at the center.

Mehrotra said “The public has voted in our favor. Today, the results will be in our favor, and the INDIA (alliance) government will be formed at the center. The exit polls that were shown were false and only served the interests of the two wealthy individuals, Adani and Ambani, to manipulate the stock market.”

He added “Why was there a need to increase the toll by 5 per cent? To benefit Adani and Ambani, the government hastily increased the toll tax by 5 percent yesterday. The BJP realized that their government is on its way out, if they were going to remain in power, they wouldn’t have raised the toll tax by 5 percent.”

Strict security measures have been implemented to ensure the orderly tallying of votes for more than 8,000 contenders in this national election.

Exit surveys indicate that the incumbent BJP-led NDA is likely to surpass its 2019 achievements, securing 352 seats. Many exit polls suggest a return to power for PM Modi. Should these forecasts materialize, Narendra Modi would become the first Prime Minister since Jawaharlal Nehru to clinch three consecutive terms in Lok Sabha elections.

Earlier, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that a “very robust system” has been put in place. “There are around 10.5 lakh booths. Each booth will have 14 tables. There are observers and micro-observers. Nearly, 70-80 lakh people are involved in the process,” he said.

The outcomes of the Assembly elections in Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh were conducted concurrently with the voting for the 543-member Lok Sabha. Additionally, today’s announcements will cover the results from 175 Assembly constituencies in Andhra Pradesh, 147 Assembly constituencies in Odisha, and the by-poll results from 25 Assembly constituencies.
