KMC Mangalore: Milestone Celebration On 70th Anniversary

Kasturba Medical College (KMC) in Mangalore, which is part of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) in Manipal, celebrated its 70th anniversary on Friday, 24th May, at the Dr T M A Pai International Convention Centre in Mangalore.

The ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Ganesh N. Nayak, Executive Director, Zydus Lifesciences Limited, and marked by the presence of esteemed guests, faculty, and students. Dr. Unnikrishnan B, Dean, KMC, Mangalore, commenced the event by delivering a welcome address, and Dr Gagan Bajaj, Associate Professor, MCHP, was the master of the ceremony.

Nayak said in his speech, “It’s an honor to be here at Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, celebrating its 70th anniversary. Over these seven decades, KMC has set benchmarks in medical science, producing top professionals and serving the community. At Zydus Lifesciences, we share KMC’s vision of excellence in healthcare. Congratulations on this milestone, and may you continue to inspire and innovate in medical education and healthcare.”

 Dr. H. S. Ballal, Pro-Chancellor, MAHE, Manipal, said, “As we celebrate seven decades of transformative impact on medical education and healthcare, the spirit of innovation defines KMC’s journey. Let us continue to uphold the values of excellence, compassion, and service as we navigate the evolving landscape of healthcare. Congratulations to KMC Mangalore on this historic occasion.”

Dr. Unnikrishnan B, Dean of KMC Mangalore, presented the College Report 2023, followed by honoring endowment awardees, batch toppers, outstanding sportsmen, and student council members, among others.

 At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Pramod Kumar, Associate Dean of KMC Mangalore, gave a warm vote of thanks, appreciating dignitaries, faculty, students, press, media, and all attendees.

MAHE is a top-tier academic and education provider, pivotal in enhancing higher education standards in India. Dr. T. M. A.
