Khalistani Separatist Pannu Posts Controversial Video After Pahalgam Attack

Pro-Khalistan separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, the head of Sikhs For Justice, has called for Sikh soldiers in the Indian military to not fight if India wages war against Pakistan. Speaking in a video message, Pannu stated: “If India attacks Pakistan, then it will be the last war for India and Modi. The Punjabis on the Indian side would feed langar to the Pakistani army,” according to Dawn.

Pannu asserted that Pakistan was not an adversary but a friendly nation and said once Punjab is freed, Pakistan would be the neighbor of India. He also urged Sikh troops to resist Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “jingoistic war.”

“Now is the time to say no to Narendra Modi’s jingoistic war. Do not fight against Pakistan. Pakistan is not your enemy. Pakistan will be and is a friendly country for the Sikh people and for Khalistan,” Pannu added.

The comments come in the wake of increased tensions between Pakistan and India after the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which left 26 people dead, including 25 Indians. Full operational liberty has been accorded to India’s forces by Prime Minister Modi to react to the attack, to which Pannu’s comments appear to be directed.

As tensions run high, Pakistani ministers have made assumptions about potential Indian military actions, which led to a crash of the Pakistani stock market. Yet India has remained silent on such accusations.
