Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday morning praised the Indian Army for launching Operation Sindoor, which targeted nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The strikes come just days after the terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people, including one Nepali national.
In a post on social media platform X, Goyal wrote, “Bharat Mata ki Jai,” expressing pride in the armed forces.
Smriti Irani, Yogi Adityanath and Others Join In
Former Union Minister Smriti Irani also expressed her support for the Indian Army. Posting on X, she wrote, “Jai Hind Ki Sena.” Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma posted “Jai Hind”, while Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wrote, “Jai Hindi! Jai Hind ki Sena!”
Their posts echoed nationwide support for the Army’s firm and calculated response to terrorism.
Pakistan Violates Ceasefire Hours After Strikes
Just hours after India launched the precision strikes, Pakistan violated the Ceasefire Agreement by opening artillery fire in the Bhimber Gali area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch-Rajouri sector.
In response, the Indian Army is said to be replying “appropriately in a calibrated manner,” according to officials. The Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADG PI) confirmed the development on X, stating, “Pakistan again violates the Ceasefire Agreement by firing artillery in Bhimber Gali.”
Operation Sindoor: A Calculated Strike
Operation Sindoor involved precision missile strikes at nine sites used by terrorist groups to plan attacks on Indian soil. The Ministry of Defence clarified that no Pakistani military facilities were targeted, underscoring that India’s actions were measured, focused, and non-escalatory.
“These steps come in response to the barbaric Pahalgam terrorist attack,” the ministry stated, reaffirming India’s resolve to hold the perpetrators accountable.
Army’s Message: “Justice is Served”
In a statement, the Indian Army shared: “Justice is served. Jai Hind!” In an earlier post, the Army declared, “Ready to strike, trained to win.” A detailed official briefing on Operation Sindoor is expected later today.
