Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan‘s vehicle became stuck in a muddy pothole in Jharkhand’s Baharagora area due to heavy rains while he was en route to a public rally. The incident, which occurred on September 23, 2024, briefly halted his journey as security personnel rushed to assist. Chouhan had to switch to another vehicle to continue to the rally, where he addressed a large crowd, emphasizing the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) commitment to addressing local issues like employment and protecting Jharkhand’s resources.

Chouhan took the opportunity to criticize the current state government, accusing it of failing to prevent illegal immigration and threatening local livelihoods. He promised that if the BJP were voted to power, the party would fill over 2.87 lakh vacant government posts and implement the National Register of Citizens (NRC) to protect Jharkhand’s “roti, beti, and mati”
