Jaisalmer under attack: Pakistan launches drone attack in the city

In a major escalation, a Pakistani drone entered Indian air space and struck Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, as part of a series of ongoing air attacks in northern India. Defence officials confirmed that air defence units are actively engaging incoming drones to nullify the threat.

Several Indian Cities Under Aerial Attack

Before Jaisalmer, Pakistani drones had attacked prominent areas in Udhampur, Jammu, Akhnoor, and Pathankot. The spree of drone operations has pushed Indian defence forces to increase counter-drone measures over these risky zones.

An upper-level defence officer said, “Air Defense assets are taking on the projectiles/drones from Pakistan,” attesting to actual-time interception procedures on the move.
The drone intrusion in Jaisalmer marks a strategic change as the threat extends beyond Jammu and Kashmir into western India. The timing of such attacks comes on the heels of India’s precision response under Operation Sindoor to neutralize terror hubs in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

The Indian government and military have reaffirmed that their response continues to be “measured and non-escalatory,” but any effort to target military or civilian installations will be met with stern retaliation.

Civilian Safety a Top Priority

Jaisalmer authorities and other affected regions have requested civilians to exercise caution and adhere to all security guidelines. Surveillance has been stepped up, and more air defence batteries have been deployed in exposed areas.

With the situation still evolving, defense analysts warn of increasing possibilities for more drone intrusions and emphasize the need for strong airspace security.
