Jairam slams govt over delay in CUET results, says NTA has no profession expertise of its own

New Delhi: Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Wednesday hit out at the government over the delay in the results of Common University Entrance Test (CUET) saying the NTA, which is under the Ministry of Education, has no professional expertise of its own and depends entirely on private vendors–some with dubious credentials–for the ACTUAL testing.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Ramesh, who is Congress General Secretary and communication incharge said, “The totally discredited National Testing Agency (NTA) had earlier announced that the results for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) would be declared on June 30th. Now it appears that they might be declared on July 10th.”

“It is worth recalling that NTA’s chairman has not been shifted out as part of the clean-up following the NEET and NET fiascos,” he said.

The Congress leader also said that “it is also worth recalling that the NTA, which is under the Ministry of Education, has no professional expertise of its own and depends entirely on private vendors–some with dubious credentials–for the ACTUAL testing”.

“CUET is one reason why more and more youngsters are looking to go abroad for undergraduate education,” he added.

The NTA has come down under severe attack of the opposotion over the alleged rigging and paper leaks in the NEET exams. Even the exams of NEET UG were cancelled.

The Congress-led opposotion has been demanding for a Supreme Cpurt monitored probe over the NEET exam results issue.
