Jaipur Airport check-in soon to go paperless, here’s everything you need to know about

Domestic passengers departing from Jaipur Airport will now have their face as their boarding permit. Jaipur Airport will go contactless and paperless in the coming days as phase one of the ‘Digi-yatra’ begins.

The system promises to improve travelers’ digital experiences by scanning them at checkpoints with facial recognition and better biometrics. After biometric facial identification, passengers using Digi yatra ID can enter the terminal building from departure gate-2.

Similar technologies have been placed at a designated e-gate in the pre-security hold area, as well as at all of Terminal 2’s boarding gates. The MoCA’s Digi Yatra program employs artificial intelligence and facial recognition technologies to automate and speed the entire check-in process, enabling paperless and contactless travel via airports across India.

As part of the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s (MoCA) ‘Digi Yatra’ program, Jaipur Airport will soon be outfitted with the newest Biometric Boarding System (Face Pods) to improve operational processes.

It will also make check-in, security, and boarding easier for travelers, making travel faster and more convenient. Technology will be leveraged to drive change in all processes and at all touchpoints, ensuring that every transit is smooth from the minute a person enters the airport until they board the plane.

Jaipur Airport will soon commence phase-1 trials at Terminal 2 (T2), introducing the beta version of this technology. As part of the testing, the airport would initially distribute the beta version to Jaipur Airport staff. This approach is intended to expedite operations before opening them to passengers in order to provide them with an uninterrupted and enhanced travel experience.
