Intense Gunfight Between Security Forces And Terrorists In Trimukha, North Kashmir

Kashmir: An intense gunfight erupted on Tuesday in the Trimukha area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district, involving terrorists and security forces.

According to a senior police officer, the clash began when a joint team of police and army personnel launched a cordon and search operation in Trimukha. As the forces approached a suspected terrorist hideout, the terrorists opened fire, sparking a fierce exchange of gunfire.

The senior officer reported that the security forces had been tipped off about the presence of terrorists in the area, prompting the operation. As they closed in on the suspected location, the hiding terrorists began firing, initiating the gunfight. The officer confirmed that the exchange of fire was intense, with heavy firing from both sides.

The security forces have cordoned off the area to prevent the terrorists from escaping and to ensure the safety of civilians in the vicinity. Local residents have been advised to stay indoors until the situation is brought under control.

The police officer also mentioned that initial reports suggest two to three terrorists are trapped in the area. The operation is ongoing, and additional forces have been deployed to assist in neutralizing the threat.
