‘Insensitive Picture’: Indian Embassy In Kuwait Deletes X Post After Backlash Over MoS Kirti Vardhan Singh, Officials Posing With Coffins

In the aftermath of the Kuwait fire incident and the subsequent return of the mortal remains of 45 Indian workers, the Indian embassy has recently put down the post from Twitter, which displayed MoS Kirti Vardhan Singh along with other officials posing with the coffins.

After the post got viral, it attracted a lot of backlash and criticism, saying that the picture is ‘insensitive’ and shouldn’t have taken at all. Another netizen even said that photo-op is not needed.

What Happened In Kuwait Fire Tragedy 

On June 12, 2024, massive fire engulfed residential building which housed foreign workers in Kuwait, thus resulting in the death of 49 Indians.

On Wednesday evening, prime minister Narendra Modi convened a meeting and on next day, the of ministry of external affairs visited Kuwait and met injured Indian workers.

Later on, June 14, the mortals of Indian victims landed via IAF’s special plane to Kochi International Airport.
