Indian Navy warships recently carried out several successful anti-ship missile firings in the Arabian Sea. These exercises showcased the Navy’s ability to launch accurate long-range strikes and emphasized its preparedness to defend the country.
The Navy shared multiple visuals online showing BrahMos anti-ship and anti-surface cruise missiles being fired from different warships, including Kolkata-class destroyers and Nilgiri- and Krivak-class frigates.
In a post, the Navy said, “Indian Navy Ships undertook successful multiple anti-ship firings to revalidate and demonstrate readiness of platforms, systems, and crew for long-range precision offensive strike. Indian Navy stands combat-ready, credible, and future-ready in safeguarding the nation’s maritime interests Anytime Anywhere Anyhow.”
Pakistan Responds with Notification
Following the missile firings, Pakistan issued a notification regarding activities in the Arabian Sea. The announcement came as tensions between India and Pakistan have been rising.
The missile tests occurred shortly after the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 civilians. Following the attack, India took strict actions. It ordered Pakistani nationals living in India to return to Pakistan and suspended the important Indus Water Treaty.
Pakistan reacted by suspending all bilateral agreements with India. Reports also said that Pakistan violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control several times, seemingly trying to provoke Indian forces. However, Indian troops responded firmly. So far, no casualties have been reported in these exchanges.
Modi Vows Strong Action
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation in his monthly ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio program, speaking strongly about the attack. He said, “Every Indian’s blood is boiling after the terror attack. Each one of them is feeling the pain of those who lost their own in the terror attack.” He added, “Peace was returning to Kashmir, but the enemies of the country, of Jammu and Kashmir, did not like this.”
