Indian MPs Visit Rash Behari Bose Memorial in Japan, Reaffirm Stand Against Terrorism

Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, who is leading an all-party delegation to Japan, visited the memorial of Indian freedom fighter Rash Behari Bose in Tokyo. He was joined by former External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid and India’s Ambassador to Japan, Sibi George. Rash Behari Bose played a key role in India’s freedom movement. He founded the Indian Independence League and helped organise the Ghadar Mutiny. He was also part of an attempt to assassinate Lord Hardinge, then Viceroy of India, in 1912. After that, he escaped to Japan. Later, he became involved with the Indian National Army (INA).

Packed Schedule in Japan

While speaking to ANI at the memorial site, Jha shared details of the delegation’s activities. He said they held 14 to 15 meetings in just two days, interacting with Japanese parliamentarians, think tanks, leaders, and members of the Indian community. “We had 14-15 meetings here in two days, interacted with parliamentarians, think tanks, leaders and the Indian community. I think we have been able to put forward the objective for which our all-party delegation came here,” Jha said.

India Reaffirms Strong Stand Against Terrorism

Jha said the delegation clearly expressed India’s firm position on terrorism during their meetings. “Our delegation was quite able to put forward its point. Information was also given about Operation Sindoor that our army targeted only the terrorist hideouts with precision, India’s future stance was made clear that if Pakistan does terrorist activity in the future, we will not tolerate it, and the Indus Water Treaty, which has been suspended, was also discussed,” he added.

Nine-Member Delegation Promotes Unity

The delegation consists of nine members, including:

  • BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, Pradhan Baruah, and Hemang Joshi

  • AITC MP Abhishek Banerjee

  • CPI(M) MP John Brittas

  • Former MEA Salman Khurshid

  • Ambassador Mohan Kumar

After Japan, the group will travel to other East Asian nations. Their mission is to strengthen India’s international campaign against terrorism.

Political Unity on National Interest

Earlier, Jha addressed the Indian diaspora in Tokyo. He stressed that despite political differences, all parties in India stand united on the issue of terrorism. “Seven delegations of all-party MPs will be visiting different countries. We were the first delegation to leave India. We have been in Japan for the last 3 days. Members of the ruling and opposition parties are in the delegation. We may have political differences and contest elections against each other, but when it comes to the country, we are all together,” said Jha.

Shared Message on Global Stage

The visit shows India’s national unity on fighting terrorism. Even with differing political views, Indian MPs have joined together to present a strong message to the world—India will not tolerate terrorism or any attempts to destabilise its peace.
