The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has directed all airports and airlines across India to strengthen security protocols immediately, according to sources from the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
As part of the enhanced measures, every passenger at all Indian airports will now undergo a Secondary Ladder Point Check (SLPC). This additional screening step will be implemented before boarding the aircraft to ensure greater passenger safety.
Furthermore, authorities have suspended the entry of visitors into terminal buildings across the country. The decision aims to reduce footfall inside terminals and minimize security risks.
To bolster in-flight security, officials confirmed that Air Marshals will be deployed based on requirements. These trained personnel will enhance surveillance and response capabilities onboard selected flights.
These steps come as part of a broader effort to ensure the safety of passengers and aviation infrastructure amid heightened security concerns following Operation Sindoor against Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack.
