India becomes one of a handful of nations receiving accolade for timely payments to the United Nations. Once again, India has been enlisted on the Honour Roll of the United Nations. The Permanent Mission of India has said that this time it had received the designation for timely and complete payment of the regular assessment.

According to an official statement, India has been able to complete its financial obligations within the stipulated 30-day time frame as envisaged in Financial Regulation 3.5 of the UN. Thus, India becomes one of the few countries that pay their financial obligations on time.

UN Hails India’s Commitment

The regular budget of the United Nations is approved every December by the General Assembly. On this basis, each Member State is assessed based on an approved Scale of Assessment, and payment notes are issued at the beginning of January. India has featured on the Honour Roll consecutively. This testamentifies the commitment to maintaining financial discipline within the global body.

This is the Permanent Mission of India. It is on record stating, “India’s prompt payment of UN dues reflects its unwavering support for the principles and purposes enshrined in the UN Charter. This commitment ensures the financial stability and operational effectiveness of the organization.”

India’s Position

A regular presence in the Honour Roll reinforces India’s position as a responsible UN Member State. Consecutive compliance with financial rules reveals its commitment to global governance and multilateral cooperation. The proper and prompt fulfillment of commitment to the United Nations allows the platform to work properly. It lets them maintain its position as a preferred partner in international transactions.

Moreover, this recognition from the UN is yet another proof of India’s robust approach to global financial responsibility. It seals the country’s reputation as a self-proclaimed supporter of the mission of the United Nations.
