I-T searches at the home of DMK MP S Jagathrakshakan continue for the second day

The income tax department is still searching the Chennai home of DMK MP and former Union minister S Jagathrakshakan.
Even though the DMK MP is inside his house, the searches are proceeding. This is the second day of IT searches at the DMK MP’s office.
The Income Tax Department searched approximately 40 places associated with the former Union Minister on Thursday.

Two breweries located in the Kanchipuram neighborhoods of Devariyambakkam and Elayanarvelur, as well as the home of DMK MP Kuppan’s cousin in Wallajabad, were also searched as part of the IT operation. Additionally, searches were done at the Balaji and Rela Hospitals in Chennai’s Chrompet. The DMK MP S Jagathrakshakan is the owner of the hospitals. A current Lok Sabha member is Jagathrakshakan. In the 2019 general election, he won the Lok Sabha seat of Arakkonam. In the UPA administration under Dr. Manmohan Singh, Jagathrakshakan served as the minister of state for business and industry.

TKS Elangovan, a DMK spokesperson, charged the BJP with engaging in “vendetta politics” in the meantime. “It is crystal clear that this is a political vendetta. People in Tamil Nadu are aware of the number of BJP-backed AIADMK members who are in charge of colleges and other institutions. In those institutions, there are no rights. These individuals are abusing their power in an effort to terrorize the opposition parties. They are unfit to lead the nation. The DMK Spokesperson referred to the BJP as a “barbaric class of people who do not respect the constitution, do not respect any law, and who will do anything for their benefit.”
