HSSC’s CET test draws flak for question repetition

The Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) is under the scanner. The Commission has become a laughing stock due to the repetition of 41 questions in the Common Eligibility Test (CET) screening test for 32,000 Class III posts. While the Commission is studying the mistake at its own level, legal opinion has also been sought from the Advocate General (AG). The person who printed the paper has also been summoned. Here, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has sought an answer from the commission.
According to sources, the government has taken the matter seriously. On the other hand, taking cognizance of the matter, the reasons have been asked for by the commission chairman. Actually, this exam was conducted in two parts. Group-57 and Group-56 exams were held on Sunday and Monday, respectively. There were 41 questions in Monday’s paper, which appeared in Sunday’s exam as well. After this was revealed on Monday, the commission kept silent for the whole day. When the opposition made it an issue and the candidates also objected to the repetition of questions, Commission Chairman Bhopal Singh Khadri said on Tuesday, ‘We are studying at our level where the mistake happened.”
The paper’s publisher has been called to find out how many questions were repeated. A legal opinion is also being sought in this matter. On the question related to the cancellation of the exam, he said, ‘First we will study. Any decision will be taken only after a legal opinion. On the other hand, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar is reported to have taken strong notice of this matter. It is said that the CM has sought clarification from the commission chairman. Opposition parties are alleging that everything is going awry at the Selection Commission. Allegations are also being made that this has been done for the sake of the loved ones. However, commission chairman Bhopal Singh Khadri has denied these allegations outright. They say that the commission does not even know what is in the question paper.
