How AAP Leaders Celebrated Arvind Kejriwal’s Bail By Supreme Court: Watch

The atmosphere among Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders was one of joy and relief on Friday after the Supreme Court granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the excise policy case.

Celebrations Among AAP Leaders

In a video shared by the party on X (formerly Twitter), key AAP figures, including former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Education Minister Atishi, can be seen eagerly awaiting the court’s decision. As the Supreme Court delivered its verdict granting bail to Kejriwal, the leaders erupted in smiles, exchanged hugs, and shook hands. The moment was one of palpable relief, marking a significant legal victory for the party.

Kejriwal’s bail comes in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe related to alleged irregularities in the Delhi excise policy of 2021-22. The Supreme Court’s decision paves the way for his release, adding to his earlier interim bail granted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a separate money laundering case tied to the same policy. Kejriwal had been arrested by the ED on March 21, and later by the CBI on June 26, while he was still in custody in connection with the excise case.

Statements from AAP Leaders

Reacting to the bail decision, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who was also recently granted bail in the same case, expressed his satisfaction. He stated, “Today, once again, truth has won in the fight against lies and conspiracies. The locks of the dictator’s prison are broken by the power of truth.”

Atishi echoed similar sentiments, saying, “The truth can be troubled but not defeated,” underscoring the party’s belief in their eventual vindication.

BJP Hits Back, Demands Resignation

While AAP leaders celebrated, the opposition wasted no time in launching an attack. BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia took a jab at Kejriwal, referring to him as the “bail wala CM” in response to his recent legal troubles. Bhatia also called for the Delhi Chief Minister’s resignation, criticizing him for not stepping down despite facing legal charges.

“The most important thing is that Arvind Kejriwal should resign as per the voice of the people of Delhi,” Bhatia remarked, adding that Kejriwal lacks “even a drop of morality.” Bhatia also pointed out Kejriwal’s past statements where he insisted that politicians facing allegations should resign, contrasting them with his refusal to do so in his own case.

Kejriwal had been in custody for nearly six months as part of the investigation into alleged irregularities in the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy. Despite the legal battles, he remains steadfast in his position, while the BJP continues to intensify its demands for his resignation.
