Heavy Artillery Fire Erupts at LoC After India Strikes Terror Camps

A heavy exchange of artillery fire broke out along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir in the early hours of Wednesday. This occurred shortly after India launched Operation Sindoor, a military response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives, including one Nepali national.

Operation Sindoor Targets Nine Terror Camps

The Indian Armed Forces carried out a series of precision strikes under Operation Sindoor, targeting nine terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). These camps were reportedly being used to plan and direct attacks on Indian soil.

The Ministry of Defence stated, “Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted.” The official statement emphasized India’s restraint and intention to avoid unnecessary escalation.

Ceasefire Violation by Pakistan

Just hours after India’s targeted action, Pakistan violated the Ceasefire Agreement by firing artillery in the Bhimber Gali sector of the Poonch-Rajouri region. The Indian Army responded to the provocation in a “calibrated and appropriate” manner, according to military officials.

The Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADG PI) posted on X: “Pakistan again violates the Ceasefire Agreement by firing artillery in Bhimber Gali. Indian Army is responding appropriately in a calibrated manner.”

Political Leaders Laud Indian Army

Several top leaders expressed their support and pride in the Indian Armed Forces’ action. Union Minister Piyush Goyal wrote, “Bharat Mata ki Jai” on X, while Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath echoed similar sentiments, praising the army with patriotic slogans.

Army Says Justice Has Been Served

In a previous post on X, the Indian Army declared, “Justice is served. Jai Hind!”—marking the nation’s firm stance on tackling cross-border terrorism and its commitment to hold perpetrators accountable.

The Defence Ministry also confirmed that a detailed briefing on Operation Sindoor will be conducted later today.
