Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, traveled to Hathras on Wednesday in response to the stampede at a religious gathering that resulted in the loss of 121 lives on Tuesday. Earlier, the state government had announced compensation of Rs. 2 lakh for the families of those who lost their lives in the incident.
