In a push to support the backbone of the state’s economy and enhance social welfare, the Haryana Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, has announced a series of impactful decisions including a debt waiver scheme amounting to ₹2,500 crore aimed at two lakh small business owners. This financial relief is designed to stimulate small-scale entrepreneurship, providing a lifeline to those struggling under debt burdens. In the realm of social welfare, the cabinet has committed to extending the Lado Lakshmi Scheme, which focuses on the well-being of the girl child, with specific provisions to be outlined during the upcoming budget session.
After the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini held a press conference where he shared the decisions taken in the cabinet meeting. CM Saini said, “Several agendas have been approved in the cabinet meeting. Pension provisions have been made for all those employees whose departments were merged. All such former employees will be given an honorarium ranging from 6 to 20 thousand rupees.” CM Saini further explained, “The cabinet has made several important decisions today. It has been decided to provide an honorarium ranging from 6,000 to 20,000 rupees to all those former employees who were associated with HSMITC, CONFED, Haryana Minerals Limited, and other departments that have been merged.”
On the environmental front, the approval of the Detailed Project Report for the Haryana Clean Air Project marks a major step forward. With an investment of about ₹3,647 crore, this project targets a pollution-free Haryana within six years, showcasing the government’s dedication to environmental stewardship. Further enhancing social security, amendments to the Haryana Disability Pension Rules, 2016, have been passed, expanding pension benefits to include 10 additional disability categories. This initiative will extend aid to an additional 32,000 individuals, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to around 208,000, thereby reinforcing support for the disabled community.
Culturally, the decision to form the Chulkana Dham Board to develop a place of worship in Chulkana reflects the government’s commitment to nurturing cultural and religious activities. During a press conference post-cabinet meeting, CM Saini discussed these initiatives, underlining the government’s adherence to the promises made in the Sankalp Patra.
