Gujarat: Amit Shah to visit National Academy of Coastal Policing tomorrow

On Saturday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will pay a visit to the National Academy of Coastal Policing in Okha, Gujarat, for the institution’s ‘bhoomi poojan’ and foundation stone laying ceremony.

He will also e-inaugurate five BSF coastal outposts off the Jakhau coast in Gujarat’s Kutch district, as well as one OP Tower at Lakhpatwari in the state’s Sir Creek area. The National Academy of Coastal Policing (NACP) was founded to provide intensive and high-level training to Marine Police from nine coastal states, five union territories, and central police forces.

The Indian government has sanctioned Rs 441 crore for the development of NACP with modern infrastructure, cutting-edge technology, and cutting-edge training facilities, which will make a significant contribution to enhancing the security of Coastal Borders.
The five Coastal Outposts being e-inaugurated are part of a total of 18 Coastal Outposts constructed at a cost of Rs 164 crore along the Medi to Jakhau Coast in the Kutch district. The OP Tower at Lakhpatwari Bet in Sir Creek will bolster dominance and ensure the presence of BSF troops in the region around the clock.
Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla and BSF Director General SL Thaosen will also attend the event at NACP, Okha.
