Genrobotics Unveils Kerala’s First Private Industrial Hub at ICET

Following the state government’s plan to bring industries to college campuses, Genrobotic Innovations Pvt Ltd, known for its advancements in robotics, has launched the first industrial park at a private college in Kerala, located at Ilahia College of Engineering and Technology (ICET) in Muvattupuzha. This Rs 3-crore facility aims to foster innovation in education by providing a modern space for research and development in robotics and artificial intelligence (AI).

Tom Thomas, the Chief Operating Officer of Kerala Startup Mission, officially opened the facility at the ICET campus on Wednesday. Also present at the event were Abdul Salam, the Director of Ilahia College of Engineering and Technology, VU Sidhique, the Manager of ICET, PH Muneer, the Chairman of ICET, and Nikhil NP, the Director and co-founder of Genrobotic Innovations.

Genrobotics, recognized as one of the top three AI startups in India and renowned for creating Bandicoot, the world’s first robotic scavenger, aims to transform the park into a center for fostering innovation in advanced technologies. The objective is to inspire bright minds and contribute to the state’s economic growth.

The facility will include an advanced research and development laboratory along with a state-of-the-art production facility. Through this collaboration, Genrobotics intends to conduct specialized research and development in humanoid and semi-humanoid robotics and AI.

Regarded as the inaugural humanoid R&D center in the state, it will enable internships, research opportunities, and employment for students, both on and off-campus. This initiative will offer practical experiences for students to engage in research, development, and the transformation of innovative ideas in robotics and AI into viable commercial products.

Nikhil NP of Genrobotics expressed, “This collaborative initiative with ICET marks the beginning of our vision to establish technology centers in colleges across Kerala. The research center at ICET will primarily focus on academic research in humanoid robotics, led by Genrobotics.

Nikhil mentioned that this is the first time in India where an Industrial Park is being set up to speed up the integration of AI and robotics through thorough research. He added, “Our goal is to establish such parks across the country to enhance this integration, as AI and robotics have huge potential to solve various human problems.”

ICET Principal KA Navas expressed, “As an educator, it fills me with pride to see my former students become founders of a socially conscious organization using robotics and AI to help society and uplift the underprivileged. This initiative aligns with our commitment to providing students with comprehensive learning experiences and preparing them for real-world challenges. Together, we will foster a culture of innovation and excellence that will benefit our students, faculty, and the wider community.

Recognized as ‘The Pride of Kerala’ by the state administration, Genrobotics has solidified its position as a frontrunner in the robotics industry. Their groundbreaking inventions have transformed hazardous work environments using robotics and artificial intelligence. Offering a diverse array of robotic solutions, the company specializes in automatic oil tank cleaning systems and state-of-the-art medical robots.
