Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot held a crucial meeting with Congress legislators and independent legislators from Jaipur to address the controversy surrounding the announcement of new districts in Rajasthan. Prominent legislators, including Havamahal MLA and Minister Dr. Mahesh Joshi, Civil Lines MLA and Minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, Jhotwara MLA and Minister Lalchand Kataria, Kishanpole MLA Amin Kagzi, Adarsh Nagar MLA Rafiq Khan, Shahpura MLA Alok Beniwal, Bagru MLA Gangadevi, and Chaksu MLA Ved Prakash Solanki, attended the meeting.
During the meeting, legislators voiced strong opposition to the proposed separate Doodoo district and instead suggested the creation of Jaipur Rural District. They emphasized the importance of preserving the unity of Jaipur and opposed the division of the city into Jaipur East and Jaipur West. Residents of Fulera, Sambhar, and Chaksu expressed reluctance to be included in the new Doodoo district, while Jaipur residents opposed the idea of dividing their city.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot reassured the legislators that decisions would prioritize public welfare and respect their sentiments. Minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, emphasizing the government’s commitment to public sentiment, stated that any disputes or disagreements regarding the districts would be resolved through constructive dialogue.
Reliable sources revealed that the existing Jaipur District would remain intact, instead of dividing it into Jaipur East and Jaipur West. There were discussions on transforming Doodoo into Jaipur Rural District as a potential solution to address the concerns raised by legislators and the public.
Chaksu MLA Ved Prakash Solanki, who actively participated in the discussions, expressed optimism about the ongoing deliberations. Solanki confirmed that the conversations were constructive and assured the public that Jaipur would not be divided. He also hinted at the possibility of exploring the establishment of additional Jaipur Rural districts.
As discussions continue, Chief Minister Gehlot’s unwavering commitment to addressing public sentiment and finding a resolution that accommodates the interests of all stakeholders remains evident.
