Agra: Former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, along with his family, visited the Taj Mahal on Saturday.
Under tight security, Sunak was accompanied by his wife, Akshata Murty, his mother-in-law, Sudha Murty, and their daughters, Krishna and Anoushka.

During the visit, the former UK Prime Minister toured the monument and signed the visitor book alongside his wife. “A truly breathtaking visit. Few places in the world can unite like the Taj Mahal. Our children will never forget seeing this… We are so grateful to the warm hospitality. An unforgettable experience for our whole family. Thank you,” he wrote.
Akshata Murty also shared her sentiments, calling it “A memory for the ages.”
A large crowd had gathered to catch a glimpse of Sunak and his family. In response, they warmly waved and greeted the public with folded hands.
Rishi Sunak, who is currently in India, had earlier attended the fifth and final T20I match between India and England at Mumbai’s iconic Wankhede Stadium on February 2.
Reflecting on the match, he stated, “Tough day for England at the Wankhede but I know our team will come back stronger. Congratulations to Team India on the win.”
Despite England’s loss, Sunak expressed his appreciation for the experience, adding, “Despite the result, it was an honour to meet @josbuttler and @surya_14kumar before the match and a pleasure to watch the cricket with my father-in-law.”

Earlier that day, former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak took part in a game of “tennis ball cricket.”
Sharing the experience on X, he wrote, “No trip to Mumbai would be complete without a game of tennis ball cricket.”

On February 1, Rishi Sunak attended the Jaipur Literature Festival alongside his wife, Akshata Murty, and his in-laws, Sudha Murty and Narayana Murthy.
Rishi Sunak served as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from October 2022 to July 2024.
Before his tenure as Prime Minister, he was appointed Chancellor of the Exchequer from February 2020 to July 2022. Prior to that, he held the position of Chief Secretary to the Treasury from July 2019 to February 2020 and served as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government from January 2018 to July 2019.
Before entering politics, Sunak built a career in business and finance, working across international markets. He also co-founded an investment firm that collaborated with companies across various regions.
Sunak studied at Winchester College before pursuing Politics, Philosophy, and Economics at Oxford University. He later became a Fulbright Scholar at Stanford University in the United States, where he earned an MBA.
