Forces Intensify Crackdown on Terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir Forests

Jammu and Kashmir, Aug 15: Security forces have launched a major crackdown on terrorists hiding in the dense forest areas of Jammu and Kashmir, following a strategic decision to deploy additional personnel and cutting-edge technology in these regions.

According to top sources within the security forces, the operation commenced after the deployment of advanced surveillance equipment, including modern gadgets, night vision devices, high-tech cameras, and other technological aids. These tools have proven crucial in locating terrorists who had been elusive and untraceable for months.

The search and cordon operations are underway across multiple locations in four districts of Jammu and Kashmir:

1. Asar Forest Area, Doda District: On August 12, an encounter occurred between security forces and a group of terrorists in the Asar forest area. The clash resulted in the death of one terrorist and the martyrdom of an Indian Army officer, Deepak Singh. The search operation is ongoing as forces continue to track down any remaining militants.

2. Paddar Forest Area, Kishtwar District: On August 10, security forces identified three to four terrorists from the Jaish-e-Mohammad group in the Paddar forest area. The operation to eliminate these militants is continuing, with forces actively engaging in the challenging terrain.

3. Basantgarh Area, Udhampur District:** An encounter erupted on the night of August 10-11 in the Basantgarh area. The forces are engaged in a prolonged operation to secure the area and address the terrorist threat.

4. Kokernag Area, Anantnag District:** In the Kokernag area, anti-terror operations have resulted in an intense encounter, during which two Indian Army jawans were martyred. The operation is ongoing as forces work to neutralize the threat in this high-intensity zone.

The introduction of advanced surveillance technology has been a game-changer in these operations, enabling security forces to effectively track and confront terrorists in the difficult forested terrain. This enhanced focus on forest areas reflects the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism and restoring stability to the region.

As the crackdown continues, security forces remain determined to neutralize the terrorist threat and ensure the safety and security of Jammu and Kashmir.
