Fire Erupts at Delhi’s Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, No Injuries Reported

A massive fire broke out at Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce in Delhi, starting in the library and spreading to three floors. Eleven fire tenders controlled the blaze within an hour. No injuries were reported; cooling operations continue.

Fire Erupts at Delhi’s Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, No Injuries Reported

A big fire erupted on Thursday morning at Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce in Pitampura area of Delhi. The fire, according to the Delhi Fire Service (DFS), broke out in the library of the college.

According to a PTI report, the blaze was reported at 8:55 am and soon engulfed the first, second, and third floors of the building. “The fire originated in the library of the college first,” ANI reported, quoting DFS.

Eleven fire tenders were rushed to the spot soon after the alert was received. The fire was doused by around 9:40 am, DFS reported. No one has been reported injured so far.

Photos at the scene took place of heavy flames shooting from the college windows and heavy black smoke pouring into the air. Cooling efforts are in progress currently to avoid re-ignition.
