The highly anticipated Aero India 2025 officially commenced today (February 10) in Bengaluru. Organized by the Defence Exhibition Organisation, Department of Defence Production, and the Ministry of Defence, the biennial event will continue until February 14.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to Attend
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh confirmed his presence at the event. In a post on X, he stated, “Leaving New Delhi for Bengaluru to attend the 15th edition of Biennial Aero-India. Aero India 2025 will showcase cutting-edge defence technologies and global aviation excellence. Looking forward to witnessing the future of the aerospace sector.”
Overview of Aero India 2025
Aero India, held every two years, is Asia’s largest air show. The 2025 edition is being hosted at Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bengaluru, with the theme “The Runway to a Billion Opportunities.”
The event includes multiple attractions:
- A curtain raiser event
- Inaugural ceremony
- Defence Ministers’ Conclave
- CEOs’ Round-Table
- iDEX start-up event
- Breathtaking air shows
- Extensive exhibition featuring aerospace companies
- India Pavilion and a trade fair
The first three days are reserved for business delegations, while the last two days are open to the public.

Key Attractions and Fighter Jet Showcases
Aero India 2025 is famous for its spectacular flyovers, aerobatic performances, and advanced aviation technology displays. Among the top attractions:
- Russia’s Su-57 and USA’s F-35 fighter jets sharing an airstrip for the first time.
- The Su-57 will perform aerial acrobatics, while the F-35 will be on display.
- The US will also showcase the F-16 fighter jet, KC-135 Stratotanker, and B-1 bomber.
- Jorgan Andrews, Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in New Delhi, will lead a high-level US delegation.
- The United States Air Force Band of the Pacific’s ‘Final Approach’ ensemble will perform at the event.
India’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) on Display
India is making significant strides in developing its fifth-generation fighter jet, the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA). A model of the AMCA, currently under development by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), will be displayed at Aero India 2025.
HAL will also showcase:
- LCA Mk1A fighter and LCA Mk1 trainer
- CATS Warrior system (a futuristic unmanned combat air vehicle)
- RUAV (Rotary Unmanned Aerial Vehicle)
- Light Utility Helicopter (LUH)
- Hindustan Turbo Trainer (HTT)-40 Simulator
- Scaled models of Hindustan Jet Trainer (HJT)-36, HTT-40, LCH, and ALH Mk IV
BEL to Showcase Advanced Weapons Systems
Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) will present a range of state-of-the-art weapons and electronic warfare systems, including:
- Software Defined Radio, High Capacity Radio Relay, and Radio on the Move
- Uncooled Thermal Imager Sight, Passive Night Vision Goggles, and Border Observation Surveillance System
- Stall Protection System, Digital Flight Control Computer, and Tactical Data Link for naval platforms
- Shipborne and land-based electronic warfare systems
- Pralay Missile, Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile, and QRSAM
- AI-powered defence solutions, including generative AI-based virtual assistants, speech analysis, and language translation systems
