Farooq Abdullah: Lord Ram’s Influence Extends Globally, Beyond Hinduism

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah extended congratulations to those involved in the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. While acknowledging the upcoming inauguration of the temple, Abdullah emphasized that Lord Ram is not exclusive to Hindus but belongs to the entire world.

In a statement to news agency ANI, Abdullah conveyed his congratulations, stating, “Ayodhya Ram Temple is about to be inaugurated. I would like to congratulate everyone who made the effort for the temple. It’s ready now.”

He went on to stress the universal significance of Lord Ram, asserting, “Lord Ram doesn’t only belong to Hindus; he belongs to everyone in the world. He is the Lord for all the people across the world. It’s written in the books.”

Abdullah highlighted the message of brotherhood, love, unity, and mutual assistance embedded in Lord Ram’s teachings. “He (Lord Rama) has given a message of brotherhood, love, unity, and helping each other. He has always said to uplift the fallen, irrespective of their religion or ethnicity. He has given a universal message.”

As the consecration ceremony for the Ram Temple is scheduled for January 22, Abdullah urged people to revive the diminishing sense of brotherhood in the country. “Today, as this temple is about to be inaugurated, I want to tell the people of the country to revive the brotherhood that is diminishing in our country. I want to tell everyone to maintain that brotherhood,” he expressed.

The consecration ceremony will witness the installation of the idol of Ram Lalla at the grand temple, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to attend. The ceremony is set to be attended by hundreds of officials, and the Sri Ram Janambhoomi Trust has invited 4,000 saints of all sects for the event. Vedic rituals for the Pran-Pratishtha (consecration) ceremony will commence on January 16, a week before the main ceremony. The trust has organized various events, including a Hundi Mahayagya, to mark the occasion. Multiple tent cities are being set up in Ayodhya to accommodate thousands of devotees expected for the grand consecration.
