What began as a personal family disagreement ended in one of the most disturbing crimes reported on the Gurugram-Faridabad Road, as a 25-year-old woman who left home after an ongoing dispute with her mother was gangraped.

She was brutally assaulted and thrown out of a moving vehicle in the early hours of December 30, leaving her with multiple fractures and severe injuries that required intensive medical care.

Last Conversation Before the Incident

According to her family, the woman had been emotionally distressed for days due to a prolonged argument at home, and her sister revealed that the survivor had spoken to her on the evening before the incident, sharing how deeply affected she felt by the continuing tension.

“She said she had a fight with our mother that was continuing for days, and she was going out of her mind,” the sister told NDTV, adding that the 25-year-old said she would go visit a friend.

The family believed she was stepping out briefly to clear her mind, unaware that the decision would expose her to a horrific chain of events later that night.

Sequence of Events on the Highway

After spending time at her friend’s home, the woman left around midnight and accepted a lift offered by two men travelling in a white Eeco van, trusting them to drop her safely, a decision that investigators say proved fatal to her safety.

Instead of taking her to her destination, the accused allegedly drove her to an isolated stretch along the Gurugram-Faridabad Road, where they assaulted her repeatedly, subjected her to physical violence, and raped her one after the other for nearly two hours.

Once the assault ended, the men allegedly pushed her out of the moving vehicle and fled the scene, leaving her critically injured on the roadside.

Medical Condition and Treatment

Emergency responders rushed the survivor to a private hospital, where doctors admitted her to the Intensive Care Unit due to multiple fractures, deep wounds, and serious trauma caused by both the assault and the impact from being thrown out of the vehicle.

Medical teams continue to monitor her condition closely, and she remains under intensive treatment as doctors work to stabilise her injuries and manage the physical and psychological trauma she suffered.

Arrest of the Accused and Legal Action

Police acted swiftly and arrested both accused, one of whom is from Uttar Pradesh, while the other is from Madhya Pradesh, following an investigation that included statements and preliminary evidence.

Authorities produced the two men before a city court on Wednesday, after which the court sent them to judicial custody as the investigation continues. Police officials said they are examining all aspects of the case to ensure a strong legal process.

Personal Struggles Before the Attack

The survivor had been dealing with personal challenges even before the incident, as she had returned to her parents’ home after a feud with her husband, which reportedly added to the emotional stress she was facing at the time.

Family members said the argument at home was not unusual but had intensified in the days leading up to the incident. The case has reignited concerns over women’s safety during late-night travel and the risks associated with accepting lifts from unknown individuals, especially on highways and isolated roads.

Public outrage continues to grow, with many demanding stronger preventive measures and faster justice for survivors of sexual violence.
