A distressing video has surfaced in the case of engineer Atul Subhash’s suicide in Bengaluru, shedding light on alleged harassment by his wife and in-laws. The footage captures Nikita Singhania’s mother, Nisha Singhania, and brother, Anurag Singhania, sneaking out of their house near Khoya Mandi in the Kotwali area shortly after Atul’s death. In the video, Nisha is seen shivering in the cold, wrapped in a shawl, while Anurag dons a sweater. The two are observed locking the house and escaping on a bike through an alley.

Engineer’s Painful Last Words

Atul Subhash, a 34-year-old AI engineer originally from Uttar Pradesh, left behind a 24-page suicide note and a 1.5-hour video detailing his struggles. He accused his wife, Nikita Singhania, and her family of filing over nine false cases against him, creating unbearable pressure. In his video, Atul lamented the systemic harassment faced by taxpayers like him, stating, “The courts, police, and the entire system run on taxpayers’ money. Yet, they harass me and my family.” He also expressed concern about his family’s future after his death, saying, “When I am no longer in this world, there will be no tax contributions from me, and these people will have no reason to trouble my family.”

FIR Filed Against Wife and In-Laws

Following a complaint by Atul’s brother, Bikas Kumar, the Marathahalli Police Station in Bengaluru registered an FIR against four individuals. Those named include Atul’s wife, Nikita Singhania; her mother, Nisha Singhania; her brother, Anurag Singhania; and her uncle, Sushil Singhania. They are charged under Section 108 (abetment of suicide) and Section 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
