KISHTWAR, August 11: An intense encounter is underway in the Kishtwar district of Jammu as security forces engage a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) group. The clash began early this morning after contact was established with the hiding terrorists, leading to an exchange of fire.

Following intelligence reports of terrorist movement in the upper reaches of Kishtwar, the Kishtwar Police, alongside the Indian Army and paramilitary forces, launched a cordon and search operation in Nownatto and surrounding areas late last night. As a precautionary measure, roads leading to the operation site have been closed.
