Drunk E-Rickshaw Driver Kills 10-Year-Old Girl, Injures Another in Delhi’s Ashok Vihar

A 10-year-old girl lost her life, and another sustained injuries after a drunk e-rickshaw driver hit them in Delhi’s Ashok Vihar area, officials confirmed on Saturday.

The accused, Vinod Kumar (38), has been arrested, police said.

Girls Hit While Playing Outside Home

The incident occurred on Friday evening when the two girls were playing near their house. Suddenly, an e-rickshaw crashed into them, leaving both injured.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) Bhisham Singh stated, “They were immediately taken to the hospital where one of them was declared dead.”

Police Received Emergency Call at 5 PM

Authorities responded swiftly after receiving a PCR call about the accident at around 5 PM, Singh added.

The accused, a resident of Ashok Vihar Phase-2, was found intoxicated at the time of the incident, as confirmed by his medical report, the officer said.

Police have taken Kumar into custody, and further investigation is underway.
