Drunk driving claims one life while seriously injuring another

In a shocking incident, Panchkula witnesses another road accident where one person lost their life, while another got seriously injured near village naka at Sector 17, here. All of this came to light, when a FIR under sections 281, 125(a), and 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered at the Sector 14 police station on Tuesday.
According to information, the complainant, Adarsh Singh and his brother Anurag Singh, residents of Abhaypur, Sector 19, were returning home from the railway station when a high-speed white pick-up vehicle struck their motorcycle head-on, causing both brothers to fall. Adarsh sustained head injuries and lost consciousness.Passersby who noticed the accident dialled on the emergency number to help the fallen. The duo was immediately taken to the Sector 6 hospital where Anurag Singh was declared dead on arrival. When Adarsh did regain his consciousness, he learnt that his brother had already succumbed to his injuries.
Upon further inquiry, the police informed that when they received an emergency call, they immediately rushed to the accident. On arrival, they found the bike and the white truck, along with the truck driver in an intoxicated state. The driver was arrested and the vehicles were taken under police custody.
The police said that further investigation is underway.
