Drone Ban Imposed in Kargil for Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebrations

Kargil: Authorities have announced a temporary ban on the use of drones in Kargil district from July 24 to 26, coinciding with the Kargil Vijay Diwas commemorations.

The decision, aimed at enhancing security during the event, was requested by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kargil, due to the presence of Very Important Persons (VIPs) in Drass on July 25 and 26. District Magistrate Shrikant Balasaheb Suse issued the ban under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Samihata, 2023.

According to the official order, the entire area within the revenue limits of Sub Division Drass and Tehsil Kargil is designated a “No Flying Zone” for drones, and the region is declared a “Red Zone” under the Drone Rules 2021 during this period.

The ban does not apply to security agencies including the police, paramilitary forces, SPG, and defense forces.

Due to the urgency of the situation, the order is being implemented immediately and will be disseminated through the Information and Public Relations Department of Kargil via the district website, print, digital, and social media, as well as public notices.

The SSP Kargil is tasked with ensuring compliance with the order, and any violations will be prosecuted under the law.
