Doda Police Intensifies Crackdown on OGW Network Following Recent Attacks

Doda, July 17: In response to recent terrorist attacks in June and July, Doda Police has ramped up its efforts to dismantle the Over Ground Workers (OGW) network in the district, resulting in the arrest of several OGWs and their supporters.

On June 12, 2024, an FIR (No. 67/2024) was registered under various sections of the IPC, Arms Act, and UAPA at Police Station Gandoh. This led to an intensive investigation led by SDPO Gandoh, Mubashir Hussain. As a result, Safder Ali and Sajad Ahmed were arrested on June 18 and 20, 2024, respectively, and are currently under judicial custody at District Jail Bhaderwah.

Further investigations resulted in the registration of another FIR (No. 70/2024) on June 26, 2024, at Police Station Gandoh. Showket Ali was apprehended on July 14, 2024, and remains in police custody. As the investigation continues, more arrests are anticipated.

The Doda Police remains committed to eradicating the OGW network in the district. “Our efforts are focused on dismantling the support structure of terrorism. We are determined to bring all involved to justice and ensure the safety and security of our region,” stated a senior police official.

With the crackdown intensifying, additional arrests are expected as authorities work to thwart any further terrorist activities in the area.
