Devastating Rains in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Leave 9 Dead, 5 Missing

Heavy rains have battered the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, resulting in tragic loss of life and widespread destruction. In Telangana, at least nine people have died across various districts within the past 24 hours, with an additional five individuals reported missing from Khammam. The relentless downpour has also led to a tragic incident in Khammam district, where a father and his daughter were swept away by flash floods while traveling to Hyderabad airport.

The heavy rains have caused extensive damage to both government and private properties across the Telugu states. Officials estimate that the financial losses could run into thousands of crores. The downpours have damaged major irrigation projects, electricity supply and distribution networks, and vast areas of crops. State and national highways, bridges, culverts, and other critical infrastructure have also been affected.

Damage assessments are still underway, and authorities caution that it will take time to fully understand the extent of the destruction. In the meantime, rescue and relief operations are ongoing, as officials work to mitigate the impact of this natural disaster on the affected communities.
