The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has launched a demolition drive targeting over 250 houses in Khyber Pass, Civil Lines. The operation began around 7 am, following police deployment and barricades set up at 2 am, which reportedly left many residents trapped inside. The demolition is expected to be completed by 5:30 pm.
A similar demolition operation by the DDA took place on Saturday, targeting encroachments on the Yamuna floodplain near the South of Gurdwara, Majnu Ka Tila. Residents, mainly Pakistani Hindus, received eviction notices late Thursday evening and have expressed concern over the impending demolitions.
Residents claim that no prior notice was provided before the demolition, and they faced strict restrictions during the process.
