Delhi:105 Dengue cases reported last week, total number reached 348

According to data given by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, 348 dengue cases have been documented in Delhi since the beginning of the year, with as many as 105 instances reported in the last week alone.

Health officials are dealing with a large increase in dengue cases as a result of recent strong monsoon floods that inundated sections of Delhi. Concerns about the breeding grounds for disease-carrying mosquitoes have grown as floodwaters recede and stagnant pools of water linger in various regions.

These conditions, according to health experts, are excellent for the spread of Aedes mosquitos, which are responsible for transmitting dengue, chikungunya, and Zika viruses.

The increase in dengue cases is not the only cause for concern, malaria and chikungunya cases have also increased in the recent week. 13 instances of malaria have been reported in Delhi in the last week, and 85 cases of malaria have been reported in the national capital this year.

These conditions, according to health experts, are excellent for the spread of Aedes mosquitos, which are responsible for transmitting dengue, chikungunya, and Zika viruses.
