Delhi police file FIR over ‘objectionable’ posters against PM

Delhi Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) based on a complaint filed by the New Delhi Municipal Council regarding posters that contained derogatory remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his family. The complaint alleged that unknown individuals had displayed these posters within the jurisdiction of the Tughlaqabad Police Station.

The appearance of these posters follows comments made by RJD Chief and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, who recently made objectionable remarks against PM Modi. In response to criticism from the opposition, PM Modi stated that the ideology of the INDI Alliance revolves around family first, whereas his ideology prioritizes the nation.

He emphasized his government’s efforts to empower women and create economic opportunities, aiming to make three crore women across the country financially self-sufficient. PM Modi criticized the INDI Alliance, stating that they have no substantive response to the government’s achievements and policies, leading them to attack him personally.

During a rally in Patna on March 3, Lalu Yadav accused PM Modi of spreading hatred in the name of religion and questioned his Hindu identity. Lalu Yadav referenced PM Modi’s response to his mother’s death, where traditionally Hindus shave their head and beard, suggesting that PM Modi’s actions were not in line with Hindu traditions.

Following these events, supporters of the BJP and others changed their social media profiles to include ‘Modi Ka Parrivar’ (Modi’s family) in solidarity with the Prime Minister.
